Miguel Barquero is an experienced tax professional currently serving as Tax Manager at the Ajuntament de Barcelona since January 2019, overseeing local taxes at the Institut Municipal de Hisenda. Previously, Miguel held the position of Tax Inspector at the same institution. From March 2008 to December 2018, Miguel worked as an Auditor at the Sindicatura de Comptes de Catalunya, the Public Audit Office for Catalonia, focusing on compliance with accounting principles and public sector regulations. Before this, Miguel was a Senior Manager in the Assurance Department at KPMG Auditores, SL from 1998 to 2008, where responsibilities included planning and executing financial statement audits for large corporations. Miguel holds a degree in Ciencias Econ贸micas y Empresariales from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and is a Spanish chartered accountant, having completed various courses and seminars on accounting and law applicable to the public sector.
