Begad Elmelligy is an experienced optical engineering professional currently serving as Optical Engineering Manager II at Banner Engineering, having worked in various positions within the company since July 2019, including Optical Design Engineer and Associate Design Engineer. Prior to this, Begad gained research experience at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, focusing on the extraction and assembly of 2D materials into electronic devices. Additionally, Begad participated in an NSF REU internship in Astrophysics at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Begad holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics for Industry and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and attended Normandale Community College from 2015 to 2017.
