Nadiya Shameej has over 15 years of work experience in compliance and assurance roles. Nadiya is currently the Vice President of Compliance Assurance at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), a position they have held since July 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Assistant Vice President and Acting Head of Assurance and Monitoring at FAB from June 2019 to July 2022.

Before joining FAB, Nadiya worked at Standard Chartered Bank as an Associate Director of Financial Crime Compliance Assurance from February 2017 to June 2019. Nadiya also held the position of Audit and Compliance Manager at Dubai Healthcare City Authority, Government of Dubai, from May 2011 to January 2017.

Earlier in their career, Nadiya worked as a Compliance Officer at Lloyds TSB from September 2007 to May 2011 and as a Compliance Coordinator at BNP Paribas from September 2006 to September 2007.

Nadiya Shameej - CIA obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Calicut from 2003 to 2006. Nadiya also has certifications including a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from IIA-The Institute of Internal Auditors. Additionally, they have completed the ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING AND FRAUD COURSE from Lloyds Banking Group and the International Advanced Certificate in Compliance from the International Compliance Association.
