Edson Bastos is a seasoned professional in banking supervision and financial stability, currently serving as a Senior Adviser at Banco Central do Brasil since September 2021. With prior experience as Under Secretary for Microeconomic Policy and Infrastructure Finance at Governo do Brasil, Edson has been instrumental in designing financial sector policies. Edson previously held significant roles at Banco Central do Brasil, including Deputy Head of the Financial Prudential Regulation Department, where discussions on banking prudential regulations were key. Edson's background also includes work with the Bank for International Settlements, focusing on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, and extensive experience in systemic risk and stress testing.
