Josh studied for his undergraduate in Biological Sciences followed by an MSc in Microbial Biotechnology at the University of Birmingham. He then completed a PhD at Robert Gordon University focusing on identifying metabolites produced by Streptomyces. Before starting at Bactobio, Josh was working in the microbial fermentation team at Syngenta.
At Bactobio, Josh is working on optimising production of novel bioactive metabolites from previously unculturable bacteria.
