Tom Blaisdell has a long and successful history in the business world. Tom is currently a board member at Backer, but they have also held this position at many other companies in the past. These companies include The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Exablox, PlayFirst, Inc., SavingStar, Inc., MIOX Corporation, Vindicia, and Bill.com. Tom has also been a part of DCM Ventures as a general partner since January 2000.
Throughout their career, Tom has helped source, diligence, select, manage and exit dozens of investments in early stage technology companies around the world. Tom has been instrumental in the growth of DCM Ventures from $200mm under management to over $3B under management with offices in Menlo Park, Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo. Some of the investments that they have led have been very successful, such as PayCycle (acquired by Intuit), HireRight (IPO on NASDAQ; then acquired by USIS), Vendavo (acquired by Francisco Partners), Jaspersoft (acquired by Tibco), Caring.com (acquired by Bankrate.com), MIOX (Acquired by Johnson Matthey), Vindicia (acquired by Amdocs) and Bill.com (still private).
Tom Blaisdell has an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Tom also attended William Allen High School.
