Sera Bak has held a variety of positions in the past decade. In 2007, they were an Administrative Assistant, Server, and Trainer at Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine. From 2011 to 2012, they were an ESL Instructor at CHUNGDAHM Learning, and from 2012 to 2013 they were a Science and Math Educator at Q& Academy. From 2013 to 2016, Sera Bak was an Operations Manager at Imperial Day Spa. In 2016, they were a Full Stack Web Development Student at General Assembly. Finally, from 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern and Software Engineer at thredUP and Backer, respectively.

Sera Bak received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, General from UC San Diego between 2002 and 2007. In 2016, they obtained a Full Stack Web Development Certification from General Assembly, a Certificate of Completion from Hackbright Academy, and a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp.
