Jose Hernandez currently serves as a Chemist at Back of the Yards Algae Sciences (BYAS) since April 2023. Prior to this role, Jose worked as a Research Specialist and Lab Manager at UIC College of Pharmacy from July 2022 to August 2023 and as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Urban Agriculture at City Colleges of Chicago-Olive-Harvey College from September 2021 to May 2022. Jose began a career in the field by working as a Student Worker at McKinley Health Center from September 2016 to June 2019. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earned between August 2015 and May 2021, and a High School Diploma from Lane Technical College Prep High School, obtained in May 2015.
