Sofia Castro is an experienced surgeon currently serving as an Algemeen chirurg at AZ Turnhout since September 2023. Prior to this role, Sofia completed a Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at AZ Sint-Jan Brugge-Oostende AV from October 2022 to September 2023. Surgical training includes a Fellow Gastrointestinale Heelkunde position at UZ Gent and a Fellow Algemene Heelkunde role at AZ Delta. Additional training involved positions at UZ Gent and AZ Sint-Lucas Gent, with early medical education culminating in a Master's degree in Medicine from Faculdade Medicina Universidade do Porto, alongside participation in Erasmus and IFMSA programs.
