Dave McCarren currently holds the position of DoD Growth at Axiom Consultants since April 2023. Previously, Dave served in the US Navy from May 2009 to July 2022, where roles included Chief Scientist for the Office of the Oceanographer of the Navy and Modeling Lead for the National Earth System Prediction Capability, focusing on advancing computer weather prediction systems. Additional experience includes acting as Federal Coordinator for Meteorological Services between December 2014 and August 2015, and serving as Assistant Director at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute from December 2004 to April 2009. Earlier roles involved executive leadership at the College of Marine Studies, deputy positions at the Naval Oceanographic Office, and various roles at the Tactical Training Group Atlantic and FNMOC. Educational qualifications consist of a Master’s degree in Physical Oceanography and Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences from Penn State University.
