John Kirkwood is an experienced lead scientist in the field of chemical engineering, currently serving at Axalta Coating Systems since October 2012. In this role, John is responsible for product generation in the Innovation Group, focusing on growth opportunities in global building products. Prior to this position, John was a staff scientist at Freeslate Inc. and Symyx Technologies, where John led project teams on automated laboratory workflows and managed technical interactions with customers. Academic experience includes a research assistant role at Stanford University, developing biopolymer films for cell growth, and an undergraduate researcher role at the University of Delaware on the Liquid Armor Project.
