Helen McAllister has extensive experience in strategic leadership within the rail industry, currently serving as the Head of Strategy at AWE. Previously, Helen was a Strategy Director in a freelance capacity and held significant roles at Great British Railways Transition Team as Programme Director for Freight Reform and at Network Rail as Strategy and Planning Director. Additional experience includes serving as Head of Strategic Planning for Freight and National Passenger Operators, as well as Industry Planning Manager at Network Rail. Helen’s career in industry planning commenced at the Rail Delivery Group as Manager in this area. Helen McAllister holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Physics from Imperial College London and a Master of Science (MSc) in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of East Anglia.
