Simo Salminen's work experience includes a role as the VP of Product at AWAKE.AI since June 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Rolls-Royce as a Program Manager from November 2017 to June 2019. From April 2016 to November 2017, they held the position of VP Product & Strategy at Tapp Commerce. Simo also worked as a Director of Products from April 2015 to April 2016 and as a Senior Business Engineer for Technical Programs from September 2014 to April 2015 at Tapp Commerce. Simo Salminen started their career at Cerion Solutions Oy in March 2011 as a Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst, and later took on the role of Technical Architect from March 2011 to April 2012. Prior to that, they worked at Nokia, where they held various positions including Manager of Technology Management from January 2006 to March 2011, Technical Architect from January 2005 to December 2005, and Web Developer from August 2002 to December 2004. Simo Salminen also has experience as a Web Developer at Primasoft from August 1998 to August 2002 and as a Visual Basic Developer at Raisio Engineering in 1995.

Simo Salminen's education history begins in 1988 when they attended Kastun Lukio, where they obtained a Matriculation Examination degree, marking their secondary school graduation. Simo then pursued higher education at Turun yliopisto - University of Turku from 1996 to 2000. However, they did not complete a degree due to work commitments in the field of Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Simo also holds multiple certifications that they obtained throughout their career. In 2010, they obtained the ITIL Foundation certification from APMG. In 2013, they earned the Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance and the Prince2 Foundation certification from APMG-International. Simo further enhanced their skills in 2014 by obtaining the Prince2 Practitioner certification from APMG-International. Simo underwent further training and obtained the Safe 4 Certified Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2017. Finally, Simo obtained the SAFe Release Train Engineer certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2018.
