Hiren Thakar is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategic leadership and operations within the real estate and consulting sectors. Currently serving as Principal and Chief Strategy Officer at Avison Young since July 2008, Hiren has played a pivotal role in transforming the firm from a regional Canadian brokerage into a global full-service provider. Additional roles include Principal and Chief Operating Officer for International Operations at Avison Young, as well as serving as Principal and SVP of Corporate Strategy at North South Foundation and board member positions at Feyen Zylstra. Hiren's earlier career includes strategic roles at Grubb & Ellis, Huron Consulting Group, Strategic Decisions Group, and Kraft Foods. Hiren holds an MBA and a Master's in Engineering Management from Northwestern University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
