Dr. Murphy is a synthetic organic chemist with expertise in preclinical drug development, molecular imaging, synthetic methodology, and fluorine chemistry. She has led medicinal chemistry efforts for an IND-cleared candidate for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia licensed to Trethera Corporation. She is an Assistant Professor at the Crump Institute for Molecular Imaging at UCLA.

​She is the recipient of American Cancer Society Research Scholar Award and recipient of the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging’s “Ones to Watch: Early Career Professionals Making a Difference” award. She holds 8 patents (3 of which have been out-licensed) and has published 23 articles (cited >350 times).
