Isamar Pastrana-Otero, Ph.D., currently serves as a Process Development Scientist II at Nitto Avecia since May 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2019 to May 2022. Additional contributions to the academic community were made through leadership positions at SACNAS, including Vice President, where outreach activities were developed, and as Cena y Ciencias Coordinator, facilitating science experiments for K-5 students. Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
