Carla Mills, PHR, SHRM-CP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Carla is currently working at Avantor as the Vice President of Human Resources for the Bioscience Production Segment. Prior to this, they held the role of Vice President of Human Resources for the Global Supply Chain and Avantor Services at Avantor. Before joining Avantor, Carla worked at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. for several years, where they held various senior HR leadership positions, including Senior HR Director for Global Planning and Senior HR Director for Hand Tools, Accessories, and Storage Operations. Carla was also the HR Director for Hand Tools, Accessories, and Storage Operations, where they provided strategic HR leadership for a $4.5 billion revenue generating manufacturing organization. Earlier in their career, Carla worked as a Senior Manager and HR Business Partner at Stanley X & Innovation Teams and as a Senior HR Manager for CribMaster & View Technologies at Stanley Engineered Fastening. Carla also served as a Human Resources Manager at Medline Industries, Inc. and BWAY Corporation. Carla began their career at General Mills, where they started as an Associate HR Manager and later transitioned to roles in project engineering and engineering development. Carla's experience spans various industries and has given their a strong foundation in both strategic and operational HR leadership.

Carla Mills, PHR, SHRM-CP, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tuskegee University. Carla also has a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Kettering University. In addition to their educational background, Carla has obtained several certifications, including the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from HRCI in 2013 and the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in 2015. Carla has also obtained certifications in various business and management areas from McKinsey & Company, such as Business Strategy, Problem Solving, and Management Accelerator Program. Carla is currently pursuing a certification in VP Experience from Avantor, expected to be obtained in 2023.
