Steven Mickey is the President of AVAD Energy Partners II. Prior to AVAD, Steven led the business development efforts for Venado Oil & Gas, a large private equity backed E&P focused on the Eagle Ford. There he led a team of geologists, reservoir engineers, operations specialists, and landmen in the evaluation of multiple upstream and midstream assets, ultimately closing on the acquisition of over $1bn of assets.

Steven began his career at Goldman Sachs in Houston as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Global Natural Resources Group, where he was part of a team that provided capital markets and M&A advisory to companies in all sectors of the oil and gas industry. After two years, Steven joined Denham Capital Management as a Private Equity Associate, where he oversaw a wide range of investments both in the U.S. and internationally which spanned the upstream, minerals, and oilfield services sectors.

Steven graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a minor in Spanish.
