Lex van Teeffelen has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Lex began their career at Hogeschool Utrecht/ HU Business School Utrecht in 1999, where they held various positions such as Professor and Chair of Entrepreneurial Finance, Principal and Supervisor of the MSc Data Driven Business/Finance Track, and Executive Board Member of the HU BlockchainLab. Lex was also an Endowed Professor of Business Transfers and Programme Manager for Small Firm Acquisition and Succession.
In addition to their work at Hogeschool Utrecht, Lex van Teeffelen served as a Visiting Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Business and Economics - University of Antwerp in 2017. Lex also took on the role of Executive Chairman at Nederlands Lectoren Platform Ondernemerschap (NLPO), where they focused on stimulating knowledge transfers and collaboration between business schools, universities, and SME associations.
Furthermore, Lex van Teeffelen had engagements with Transeo - European Association for SME Transfer, where they served as Chairman of the Academic Committee, and with the Autoriteit Financiële Markten, where they acted as an Expert Panelist on SME Finance and Financial Codes of Conduct. Lex also served as a Board Member of Permanent Education on SME Financial Advice at Kamer van Koophandel.
Additionally, Lex van Teeffelen has contributed to various initiatives and organizations, including serving as a member of the Steering Committee Ondernemer Centraal Doorbraaktafels at Gemeente Utrecht, a member of the Advisory Board at MKB-kredietcoach, and an Advisory Board Member for Altfinator—a project aimed at building an eco-system for SME alternative finance and education in Central and South European countries.
Lastly, Lex van Teeffelen held the position of Chairman of the Jury for the Ten Clarenwater Master Thesis Award on Family Firm Research at Windesheim, and as an Executive Chairman for the Nederlands Lectoren Platform Ondernemerschap (NLPO).
Lex van Teeffelen has a diverse education history. Lex completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) in 1981. Lex then went on to pursue a Masters of Science (MSc) in Social Psychology from the same university, completing it in 1986. In 2000, they attended SchoolvoorCoaching and obtained certification as a Certified Coach, specializing in Individual and Team Coaching on Effectiveness. Later, from 2007 to 2010, Lex attended Nyenrode Business University, earning their PhD in Entrepreneurship Studies. Prior to their college education, Lex completed their secondary education at Aloysius College, where they obtained their Atheneum B degree.
