William R. Van Dalsem is an experienced engineer and educator with a notable career spanning over four decades. Currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at Stanford University within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Van Dalsem is actively involved in the Stanford University Mechanical Engineering Senior Capstone Program. In addition to this role, Van Dalsem is an Advisor for Advanced Concepts at Caylan Space Inc., and serves on advisory councils for various organizations, including GLG and the Autonomy Institute. Previously, at NASA Ames Research Center, Van Dalsem held several prominent positions, including Chief Strategy Officer for the Aeronautics Directorate, overseeing critical research and development initiatives, and managing significant aeronautics programs. Van Dalsem earned both a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, along with a Bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara, solidifying a strong academic foundation in the field.
