Rebecca Payne is currently a Counsel at Automattic, where they oversee the corporate legal function and have successfully led numerous acquisitions and financing transactions. Previously, they served as an Associate at Gunderson Dettmer, advising start-ups and private companies on a variety of legal matters. Rebecca began their legal career as an intern at the U.S. Department of Justice and later held various roles, including Associate Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. They earned their law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where they were also involved in notable legal projects and research.
