Maggie Hatter Furr has extensive work experience in the fields of education and direct care. Maggie currently serves as the Senior Director of Direct Care at the Autism Society of Indiana, a position they started in 2022. Prior to this role, Maggie worked at Indiana University East, where they held multiple positions. From February 2016 to February 2021, they worked as an Assistant Director of Admissions, traveling to meet with students and assisting them in their post-college plans. From February 2021 to December 2022, they worked as a Student Success Coach, providing support and guidance to students facing obstacles in their education. In this role, they specifically focused on early intervention and assistance for students at higher risk of not completing their programs. Maggie also played a key role in creating support systems and programming for first-generation college students.
Maggie Hatter Furr pursued their education at Indiana University East from 2020 to 2021, where they obtained a Master's degree in English. Prior to that, they attended Indiana University Kokomo from 2010 to 2014, earning a Bachelor's degree in Education.
