Dion Russell OLY has extensive experience in sports governance and performance operations, currently serving as a Board Member for the Oceania Gymnastics Union and Gymnastics Australia while also advising the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Dion has contributed to various committees focused on governance, integrity, and high performance within sports organizations. Previous roles include Head of Performance Operations at the Australian Institute of Sport and significant positions at Athletics Australia, including Chair and Selector on the National Selection Committee. Dion has also engaged in commentary for athletics at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and participated in global anti-doping discussions as an Oceania Delegate for World Athletics. The academic background includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Biology from the University of Canberra and education from RMIT and Balwyn High School.
