Robert Acres is a highly experienced professional in the field of applied science, particularly in synchrotron spectroscopy, surface science, and materials science. Currently serving as the Lead Commercial Technical Consultant at ANSTO since July 2018, Robert has also held significant roles including Commercial Technical Consultant and Industry Support Scientist. Prior experience includes positions as Industry Support Scientist and Beamline Scientist at the Australian Synchrotron, as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste. Robert began their academic career as a Research Associate at Flinders University and as a PhD student at the Ian Wark Research Institute. Robert holds a PhD in Applied Science from the University of South Australia, along with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Nanotechnology from Flinders University.
