Lara is a CPA with several years of experience in financial accounting, tax preparation, tax planning, tax consulting and compliance.

She went to college in Tennessee and worked there for a few years before choosing Texas as her next destination. Since her move to Austin in 2016, Lara has been actively involved in the Texas Society of CPAs (TXCPA). She currently serves statewide on the TXCPA Board of Directors and locally as the President-Elect for the Austin Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs.

In recognition of her service to the accounting profession, She received the TXCPA Rising Star Award in 2019, Outstanding Committee Chair of the Year from TXCPA Austin in 2020, Young CPA Of The Year from TXCPA Austin in 2018.

Lara joined the Austin Young Chamber in 2018, she has been active on the Ambassador committee welcoming new members at events, checking-in with current members, and communicating with prospective members for AYC Office hours.

Lara gives back to the local community in various ways, most notably by volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank and mentoring aspiring CPAs.
