Caleb L. is a highly experienced engineering professional with a strong background in deep learning, robotics, and computer vision. Currently employed at Aurora since January 2020, Caleb previously held the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer at Uber, contributing to deep learning and autonomy projects. Prior roles include Director of Engineering at Otto and cofounder and CTO of a stealth mode startup, both of which were acquired. As a Senior Engineering Manager at Oculus VR, Caleb led the development of the Oculus Rift, focusing on machine learning and computer vision for augmented and virtual reality. Earlier experience encompasses significant contributions to Google’s self-driving car project and Google AdWords, along with a graduate internship at MIT's CSAIL where Caleb was involved in various innovative AI projects. Educational credentials include a PhD in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
