Carl Wessels is an Audit Director at Audit New Zealand since May 2019, previously serving as a Senior Manager and Auditor at the Auditor-General of South Africa from November 2000 to April 2019. As a professional, Carl specializes in performance audits and investigations within the public sector. Carl holds qualifications as a Chartered Accountant CA(SA) and a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), having obtained a CIMA degree in Finance and Financial Management Services from 2005 to 2009, and a CA(SA) degree from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants from 2001 to 2003. Carl's foundational education includes obtaining a matric from Hendrik Verwoerd High School.
