Rotimi Omorodion has a diverse work experience starting in 2012 as a Resident Assistant and Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Richmond. Rotimi conducted research in computational chemistry, applying ab initio quantum methods to study the properties of small molecules. Rotimi also served as a Summer Student Mentor and Structure Determination Workshop Assistant.
In 2015, Rotimi joined Scripps Research as a Ph.D. Candidate, where they conducted doctoral research in the laboratory of Prof. Ian Wilson. Rotimi'sresearch focused on using X-ray crystallography to study the coevolution of HIV-1 antigen and broadly neutralizing antibodies to inform HIV vaccine development. Rotimi successfully defended their dissertation in February 2022 and continued as a Postdoctoral Associate until March 2023.
Since March 2023, Rotimi has been working as a Scientist I at aTyr Pharma, where they apply their scientific expertise in a new professional setting.

In 2011, they enrolled at the University of Richmond and completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2015. In the same year, Rotimi pursued further education at the Kansai Gaidai University as part of the Asian Studies Program. From 2015 to 2021, they attended Scripps Research, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Structural Biology.
