Emma Cohen is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Assistant Director at the Attorney-General's Department since May 2022. Prior roles include Assistant Director and Senior Policy and Programs Officer with the ACT Government, and Policy Officer at the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. Earlier experience encompasses roles such as Advocacy and Policy Intern with Médecins sans Frontières Australia, Paralegal at Turner Coulson Immigration Lawyers, and Legal Assistant with the Aboriginal Legal Service. Emma has also worked as a Humanitarian Paralegal for Playfair Visa and Migration Services and held leadership positions at HSC CoWorks and AFFMA. Educationally, Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from UNSW, specializing in Development Economics and International Development, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws in International Law at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
