Milja Heikkinen started their work experience in 2010 as a Teacher at the Federation of Education in Central Ostrobothnia. Milja then worked as a Dairy Farm Advisor at ProAgria from October 2010 to December 2013, and later became a Service Manager from January 2013 to January 2019. Their most recent role was as a Development Manager at Atria Plc starting from January 2019.

From 2003 to 2010, Milja Heikkinen studied at the University of Helsinki, where they pursued a degree in animal nutrition. Milja successfully completed their studies and obtained a Master of Science (M. Sc.) degree in agronomy.
