Jimmy Williams Jr

Jimmy Williams Jr has a diverse work experience across various industries and roles. Jimmy started their career as a Senior Manager in Strategic Planning (Quality Systems) in 1992. Jimmy then worked at Boeing as a Senior Manager of Advanced Manufacturing Research and Development from 1997 to 2001, where they led the development and implementation of flexible manufacturing lines. Subsequently, they served as the Director of Manufacturing at Boeing, where they oversaw the development of manufacturing equipment and processes and supported industrial engineering.

After their time at Boeing, Williams joined Alcoa as the Director of Development, where they managed lab programs, provided technical expertise, and oversaw the development of new products and process designs. Jimmy later became the Director of Alcoa Defense, devising strategies and directing market analysis to capture opportunities in the defense industry. Jimmy also served as the Senior Director of Global Technology Advantage, responsible for developing and executing Alcoa's global technology advantage.

In 2012, Williams joined Pall Corporation as the Vice President of Global Engineering, where they led the Engineering function for Operations and supported Pall's global growth initiatives.

From 2014 to 2022, they worked at Carnegie Mellon University as the Executive Director and Distinguished Service Professor, focusing on Engineering & Technology Innovation Management.

In 2018, they became the Chair of The Association of Former Students Board of Directors at Texas A&M University.

Most recently, Williams holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at ATI since November 2022.

Jimmy Williams Jr has a PhD in Technology Strategy - Adaptation Routines from Washington University in St. Louis, which they earned from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained an MBA in Marketing & Management from Lindenwood College from 1986 to 1988. Furthermore, they also hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, achieved between 1980 and 1983.
