Kat Schaefer is an accomplished professional in event management and production, currently serving as the Director of Special Events for the Houston Astros since November 2024. Prior to this role, Kat held various positions at SXSW from August 2014 to November 2024, including SXSW EDU Production Director, Production Manager, and Department Coordinator, demonstrating a strong progression in responsibilities within the organization. Earlier experience includes a position as a Licensed Assistant at Realty Austin and Operations Manager at High Beam Events. Kat Schaefer earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Public Relations from Concordia University Texas in 2011.
