Ian Scanlon is an experienced professional in bioprocessing and purification, currently serving as Subject Matter Expert at Astrea Bioseparations Ltd since July 2021, where responsibilities include delivering purification solutions for ATMP projects. Prior roles include Team Lead and Senior Research Associate at 4Basebio, developing scalable DNA production processes; Staff Research Engineer at Cytiva, focusing on implementing fibro technology in downstream processing; and a tenure at Puridify as both Technical Specialist and Staff Research Engineer, leading collaborative biopharma projects. Ian's earlier experience includes positions at Sigma Aldrich, Pursuit Dynamics, Illumina, UCB, and Biofocus, highlighting a strong background in process development and technology advancement in the life sciences sector. Ian holds a BSc in Chemistry with a year in industry from Imperial College London, obtained in 1998.
