Qing-Dong Wang has extensive experience in cardiovascular research and leadership, currently serving as Chief Scientist at AstraZeneca since August 1997, where roles have included Senior Principal Scientist and Principal Scientist within the Heart Failure Bioscience leadership team. Qing-Dong Wang has been pivotal in building a strong pipeline in heart failure research, leading cross-functional teams. Prior to this, positions included Biological Effect Area Leader for Cardioprotection and Cardiac Regeneration at AstraZeneca, and Research Scientist at Karolinska Institutet. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Cardiology from Karolinska Institutet, an M.S. in Cardiology, and an MD in Medicine, both from Shandong University, where a career also included serving as a cardiologist and assistant professor.
