Senior Database Developer

Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA seeking a Senior Database Developer with Appian experience. This is a full-time and onsite position in Washington DC.

Position Summary: Astor is looking for a proven Senior Oracle Database Developer/Architect to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have progressive experience architecting, designing, and modeling schemas, data structures and data warehouses for Oracle databases in multi-tiered environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal business resources and technical teams/SMEs to understand data sources
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize databases
• Develop database objects including stored procedures, tables, views and table-valued functions.
• Write complex queries involving common table expressions, window functions and subqueries for reporting.
• Develop, test and execute the migration of data from an IBM DB2 to database to an Oracle database.
• Translating business functions into conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Optimize database tables including the application of triggers, indices and constraints.
• Enforce the successful application of any security standards necessary for the database, potentially including encryption at rest.
• Performance tuning and query optimization
• Data migration from legacy data base and perform transformations to the data to fit in the new data base
• Conduct Design reviews with the business analysts and content developers to create a proof of concept for the reports
• Support development teams in developing SQL queries
