Helen Roberts

Helen Roberts has a diverse and extensive work experience. Helen began their career in 2011 at Sheffield Hallam University, where they held various roles such as Performance Athlete Manager and Basketball Coach. Helen then worked as a Performance Lifestyle Advisor at the English Institute of Sport from 2015 to 2019. In 2015, they also established their own consulting company called HR Performance Consulting, where they served as Director. Helen has also held positions at the British Basketball Federation, Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme, Loughborough Sport, and British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS). Currently, they are the Head of Player Care at Aston Villa Football Club and also serves as a Senior Volunteer - Athlete Services Advisory Board at Switch The Play Foundation.

Helen Roberts has a strong educational background in the field of sports and exercise science. Helen holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Honours) degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Sheffield Hallam University, which they completed from 2008 to 2011. Helen further pursued their academic career at the same university and obtained a Master's Degree in Sport and Exercise Science, completing it in 2011-2012.

To enhance their qualifications in coaching and mentoring, Helen attended Sheffield Hallam University once again from 2015 to 2017, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring. In 2022, they expanded their expertise by earning a Postgraduate Certificate in Elite Athlete Wellbeing from Loughborough University.

Additionally, Helen has obtained various certifications related to their field. Helen holds a number of certifications including Understanding Elite Athlete Transitions level 3 from TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme), Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Level 2 from The Skills Network, Counselling Skills Level 2 from The Skills Network, and UK Anti-Doping Advisor from UK Anti-Doping, which they earned in 2021.

Other certifications obtained by Helen include Mental Health First Aid Level 2 from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in 2017, Training and Education Level 3 from Train Aid Ltd in 2017, Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support Level 3 from TASS in 2013, Level 2 Basketball Coach from Basketball England in 2012, Level 1 Tennis Coach from LTA in 2009, Level 2 Gym Instructor from Coach Hallam in 2009, and Level 1 Football Coach from The Football Association in 2006.
