Ellen Bass is an accomplished academic and professional with extensive experience in human factors and ergonomics. Currently serving as the Interim Senior Associate Dean for Research at Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics, Ellen has held a professorship in the Department of Information Science since 2013. Ellen also contributes to Penn Medicine as an Adjunct Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care and has been recognized as a Fellow by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. With a background as a Human Factors Engineer at the FAA Center of Excellence on Unmanned Aircraft Systems and active memberships in professional organizations, Ellen has demonstrated a commitment to advancing the field. Ellen's leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the Department of Health Systems and Sciences Research at Drexel University and as a board member for Jewish Senior Housing and Healthcare Service. Educational credentials include a PhD in Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master's in Systems Science from Binghamton University, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics, Finance, and Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
