Janelle Cogan is an experienced editor and journalist with over 20 years of experience in various editorial roles. Currently, Janelle serves as an editor on the Global Enterprise Team at The Associated Press, focusing on narrative, investigative, and explanatory storytelling. Previous positions at The Associated Press include Deputy Director of Storytelling and Acting Enterprise Editor for the South region, overseeing content across multiple formats. Earlier in Janelle's career, roles at The Virginian-Pilot included Assistant Editor for the Urban Team and various positions in editing and reporting. Janelle also taught a journalism course at Old Dominion University and has held roles in other media organizations, including The Sun News and Columbia Missourian. Janelle holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from The University of Missouri-Columbia.
