Maneesha Premaratne has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. In 2016, they worked as a Temporary Instructor at the University of Colombo. In 2017, they worked as an Intern on the Data Engineering Team at Assette and as a Summer Internship in the 'Capital Markets Trading' Division, Quantitative Models Team at DZ BANK AG. In 2018, they worked as a Data/AI Engineer and Assistant Product Manager at Assette. As a Data/AI Engineer, they researched different aspects of data science such as Natural Language Processing and led the research and development effort for processing unstructured data. As an Assistant Product Manager, they developed smart file readers using Python to process and enter data from csv/excel files into the Assette system database. At DZ BANK AG, they implemented Python based tools to satisfy the requirements of the Fixed Income section of the Quantitative Models team and updated an existing Python implementation of a value-at-risk engine.

Maneesha Premaratne completed their high school education at the Royal College in 1997-2011, obtaining a degree in Applied Mathematics. Maneesha then attended the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants from 2010-2013, studying Business Administration and Management, General. In 2011-2016, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematical Finance from the University of Colombo. Finally, they obtained a Master's Degree in Mathematical Finance from the Questrom School of Business, Boston University in 2016-2018. Additionally, they obtained the CIMA certification from CIMA in March 2014 and the CFA Level 1 certification from the CFA Program. Maneesha is currently working towards obtaining the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 2 certification from the CFA Institute in January 2022.
