John McAuley is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in trading and consulting within the hedge fund sector. As the Founder of The Awareness Edge Group Pte. Ltd. since April 2024, John specializes in coaching hedge fund traders on the psychology and methodology of discretionary trading. Previously, John served as a Senior Consultant at the Asian Leadership Institute since April 2011, providing similar coaching services to hedge funds. John co-founded and held the position of Chief Investment Officer at The Sherpa Funds, an Asian-based macro hedge fund, from March to December 2010. Additional experience includes serving as Director at Orbital Capital, where trading was conducted in over 40 futures markets, and as Director of Asian Rates trading at BNP Paribas. Early in John's career, a Vice Presidency at Chemical Bank involved trading JPY and AUD rates portfolios. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of International Management with a focus on International Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
