Bharath Shankaran is an experienced investment specialist currently positioned at the Asian Development Bank, focusing on private sector portfolio management in infrastructure across the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Pacific region. Prior to this role, Bharath served as an investment manager for British International Investment, managing debt for South Asian corporates and financial institutions, overseeing deal structuring and client relationships. Bharath also took a sabbatical for travel and volunteering, during which teaching experiences took place in Sikkim and rural areas. Earlier in the career, Bharath held significant roles at Standard Chartered Bank, focusing on corporate finance, loan syndication, and leveraged finance, and began professional training as an analyst at ANZ in trade finance. Bharath holds an MBA in Finance from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, and a master's degree in Management from KEDGE Business School in Marseille, France.
