Tony Arendt serves as the Director of the Midwest Region for the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) since October 2020, focusing on accelerating the adoption of commercial technology within the Department of Defense. Previously, Tony held the position of Great Lakes Regional Director at the National Security Innovation Network, enhancing engagement between the DoD and innovation ecosystems. Tony also has extensive experience in the U.S. Navy Reserve, including roles as Commanding Officer and Executive Officer at various units. Other notable positions include Officer in Charge at the Air Force Special Operations Command and Executive Director for The Mission Continues. Tony's academic credentials include an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, complemented by a B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State University.
