Thibault Baldivia

Co-founder & Chief Customer Officer at Ascendance Flight Technologies

Thibault Baldivia has had a varied work experience since 2012. Thibault began as a Mechanical Engineer at Snecma in 2012. In 2013, they held two positions, a Manufacturing Engineer at Schlumberger and an Innovation Strategy Analyst at Tech2Market. In 2014, they were a Research Engineer at Airbus Group Innovations, where they worked on sizing and assessing performances of a hybrid propulsion system for a VTOL UAV. In 2015, they were a Research Engineer at Altran, where they were on assignment at Airbus Group Innovations to work on electrical propulsion systems and the E-FAN2.0 project. In 2016, they were a Lead Engineer on the main Electronic Control Unit and System Architect (E-FAN Program) at Airbus ExO Alpha. There, they worked on three projects, modelling and simulating the hybrid electrical architecture for a future regional aircraft, modelling and simulating the thermal and electrical behaviour of battery cells for a helicopter application, and developing the main controller unit and the data network for the Electrical Propulsion Unit. In 2018, they held three positions, Co-founder & Chief Customer Officer, Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer, and Co-founder & Interim CEO at Ascendance Flight Technologies, as well as a Visiting Lecturer at ISAE-SUPAERO.

Thibault Baldivia has a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) from Ecole centrale de Lyon, with a major in Aeronautics and a minor in Business development. Thibault also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in Thermics and Energy, as well as a PCSI/PC* from CPGE Lycée Thiers in Physics, Chemistry and Engineering Sciences. Thibault has also obtained three additional certifications: an Introduction to Data Science in Python from the University of Michigan (April 2017), a Sustainable Mobility from IFP School (December 2014), and a GdP (Project Management) from École Centrale de Lille (October 2014).
