Sonia la'Ulu

R&d Scientific Manager at ARUP Laboratories

Sonia La'ulu currently serves as R&D Scientific Manager at ARUP Laboratories, leading a team of R&D scientists and managing multi-divisional projects since June 2003. Previously, Sonia held roles including Research and Development Principal Investigator, focusing on automated chemistry and immunoassay analyzers, and Research & Development Scientist, specializing in the validation of such analyzers and establishing reference intervals for specialized populations. Early in the career, Sonia gained experience as a Laboratory Technologist and as a Research Lab Tech at the University of Utah, working on gene therapy methods for treating Retinitis Pigmentosa. Additionally, Sonia interned with the Women in Science Center at Brigham Young University, facilitating conferences and workshops to promote women in science. Sonia holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University and a Bachelor's degree in Zoology with an emphasis on Human Biology from Brigham Young University.
