Lorna Virgo is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Director of Finance and Business Services at the Arts Council of Wales since October 2024. Previously, Lorna held the position of Group Finance Director at amber energy from October 2018 to October 2024 and served as Chair of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee at Torfaen Leisure Trust Limited from June 2016 to June 2022. Additional roles include being a board member at Cwmbran Trust and an Audit and Risk Committee Member at Pobl Group. Lorna has also worked as Head of Finance at Gwent Police and as Strategic Lead at Chwarae Teg, focusing on empowering women in Wales. Earlier experience includes a managerial role at PwC overseeing accounts preparation for the West and Wales region and auditing for Ernst & Young. Lorna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Maths and Accounting and Financial Management from Loughborough University.
