Jon Abundez is a Senior Product Engineer at CryoLife, Inc. since August 2021, with prior experience as a Senior R&D Sustaining Engineer and R&D Sustaining Engineer at Smith & Nephew from November 2015 to August 2021, focusing on surgical wands for sports medicine and ENT applications. Previously, Jon served as a Design Engineer in the Steering Division at Cardone Industries from May 2012 to November 2015, where responsibilities included designing remanufactured automotive parts and improving OE designs through reverse engineering. Early professional experience included roles as a Product Research Technician and Senior Design TA at The University of Texas - Pan American, with an academic background in Mechanical Engineering, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the same university in 2011.
