Katarzyna (Katia) Mierzejewska serves as the Europe and Central Asia Comms and Media Officer at ARTICLE 19 since October 2021, where key responsibilities include leading communication strategies, contributing to advocacy efforts, and monitoring human rights trends. Prior to this role, Katarzyna was the Engagement Coordinator at The Coalition For Women In Journalism, focusing on press freedom and coordinating various forms of outreach. Experience also includes freelance journalism covering critical social and political issues, roles in social media and communications management at organizations such as Galileo IIIC and TRIAL International, and positions in journalism at Radio Zet and Gazeta Wyborcza. Katarzyna holds advanced degrees in Gender Studies and International Relations from the University of Warsaw.
