Nick Ravich

Director, Video Programming & Production at Art21

After graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Nick worked for filmmaker Errol Morris as a researcher, starting a nearly twenty-year career in documentary production. Throughout, Nick has been able to produce smart and stylish non-fiction programming for television and the web, working with hundreds of subjects—many of them artists—on projects like Blackside’s I’ll Make Me a World and WGBH TV’s Greater Boston Arts.

Having worked at Art21 since 2006, Nick is currently the organization’s Director of Video Programming & Production, serving as series producer for the Peabody Award-winning PBS broadcast series Art in the Twenty-First Century and the Webby-nominated digital shorts series New York Close Up, which he also co-created. As a director, series producer, and consulting producer for Art21, Nick has been directly involved in the production of 300 (and counting) digital shorts which have been screened over 75 times at over 30 film festivals across the world—including DOC NYC, BlackStar, and Newfest—and have been honored with a Vimeo Staff Pick and Video Consortium New York screenings.
