Joe Fusaro received his Masters Degree in Education from the City University of New York and his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Hofstra University. He is an exhibiting artist, educator, and Visual Arts Chair for the Nyack Public Schools in New York since 2003. Prior to his work in Nyack, he was an art educator and staff developer for the New York City Schools for 13 years from 1990-2003. Fusaro is a member of the adjunct faculty at New York University’s Graduate Program in Art and Arts Professions, certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, and has led staff development workshops in contemporary art education for schools and museums across the country including MASS MoCA, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Seattle Art Museum, Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the National Art Education Association. Recent published works include various articles for Art21 Magazine and Art Education Journal. Exhibitions include solo shows at 287 Spring/Fridman Gallery in New York’s SoHo, Garner Arts Center in New York and the University of California, Santa Cruz.
