Paola Poletto has a diverse work experience in the arts and cultural sector. Paola has worked at the Art Gallery of Ontario, where they held various positions including Director of Engagement & Learning and Manager of Studio and Group Learning. Paola has also worked at the City of Mississauga as a Supervisor of Cultural Programs, at Design Exchange as a Senior Director and Curator of Exhibitions and Public Programs, and at the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame as a Curator. Prior to their work in Canada, they were a Programs Coordinator/Assistant Curator at the Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto. Through their roles, Paola has developed expertise in strategic museum learning, growth and access to museum learning, and promoting cross-cultural exchange in the arts.
Paola Poletto has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Visual and Performing Arts from York University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1993. Paola then pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Visual and Performing Arts at Western University from 1998 to 2000. Additionally, Paola completed an International Leadership Program in Visual Arts Management at New York University in 2015-2016. Currently, they are working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Media and Design Innovation at Toronto Metropolitan University, with an expected completion date of 2027.
